1. What do you know about my industry?
Probably very little. You are the expert in your business. We are solely your manufacturing solution experts. We will focus exclusively on how our factories can make your business more competitive by providing you with further savings on items you feel are currently too costly or time consuming to develop.
2. How will I be protected?
We represent you. The key here is to remember that Four Winds is not a parts sales company or an agent for the factory. We assist you to get your product manufactured at the right factory from the start. When the product reaches a mature stage we do not show or offer that product to any other clients. The relationship we have with your property remains proprietary between our two companies.
3. Do I have to be involved with the Chinese factories or do you handle that for me?
No, Four Winds handles all the international communications including document mailing or shipping and we talk to the factory ownership group and their engineers every night. We keep you informed through our Ottawa office every step of the way.
4. Will I have quality control issues and will it be a constant battle?
Our success is based on consistency for our clients. A key reason for this is we will work diligently to identify the right factory – not necessarily the cheapest- for your product right from the start. In addition we will not secretly move to other factories over time to try to lower our costs. We both need consistency to be successful.
5. How do I know what my final cost is?
This is simple. When we get to pricing stage we will submit to you a price per piece and it is the final price you pay delivered to your door. This price will include all the international insurance and brokerage charges as well as duties and inland trucking costs. We will even quote the shipping separately so you can clearly identify your per piece shipping costs.
6. What are my timelines for delivery?
Typically, we have a 28 day manufacturing window, plus 15 days on the ocean, plus 7 days of inland transportation time, totalling less than 60 days turnaround time from the start of manufacturing.
7. What is the minimal amount I have to buy?
It depends on the value of your product or part you are sourcing. We offer LCL loads and full container loads that ensure maximum efficiencies for our clients. We provide exceptional products for your business to continue to thrive and we can both hope the volume will increase which is good for all parties. Volumes are something that we will discuss as a group.
8. What’s my guarantee?
This is where our established relationships within the Chinese manufacturing community come in.. Four Winds, along with our factories will guarantee the quality, quantity and consistency of every order, every time. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your order we will make corrections at our expense or provide you with full compensation.
9. Do you also provide exporting and local sourcing services back to China?
It’s a developing market for us. The incredible growth in the Chinese middle class has resulted in a huge demand for products not readily available in China. This along with the huge appetite of the manufacturers for certain raw materials has provided some great opportunities for North American companies to supply the Chinese factories.
10. What are some of the products you have successfully manufactured and imported from China?
Our expertise is wood and metal products. We started this business by developing and manufacturing high end stair parts for the North American housing industry. From there relationships developed and we continue to diversify today as does our key factories.
We have successfully developed fiberglass parts, metal parts including casting and stamping as well as extruded aluminium and tempered glass. We are currently importing complete packaged home renovation products that are shelf ready for retail outlets and we are also manufacturing and importing office furniture. We have devolped a line of steel shelving and their related components for our clients in the warehousing business. We have a very diversified client base.
11. Is this confidential?
Yes. Four Winds treats every component design with the utmost of care and consideration for the privacy and protection of your business. It should also be noted that Four Winds does not ever compete or resell components produced by their clients. We represent your interest to the factories.
